Foiling machine
A friend has bought a foiling machine and is asking me questions, which I'm afraid I can't answer. One of the questions raised a query that I've had since they came on the market - what is the difference between dies for foiling and ordinary dies? Or is there?

Re: Foiling machine
No idea, I would imagine embossing files would work, not familiar with them but there must be you tube videos to help

Re: Foiling machine
I didn't realise you could get dies for foiling. I have a minc, and the foil attaches to laser ink from a printer.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: Foiling machine
I've seen them listed for sale on various sites, Tina: just had a search and found this description:
"Traditional Hot Foiling: In the traditional foiling process, the design to be stamped is first engraved or etched into a metallic plate (known as a foiling die or die cut). Using heat and pressure in the foil printing machine, the design is then transferred onto the print surface (the surface that needs to be foiled), from the die."
Sounds to me like the same effect you would get by die-cutting cardstock with a layer of double-sided sheet on top, peeling off the backing and foiling the now sticky die-cut - but who am I to say, lol!
