Two trees I made:

The left-hand one is made from empty cardboard ribbon spools, with the circles painted dark green and the core where the ribbon went wrapped in an offcut of Christmas paper. The star on the top is one piece from a length of gingham star ribbon.

The right-hand one is made from empty Ikea cotton thread spools, wrapped in scraps of Christmas paper. The star on the top is a small wooden one, wrapped in golden yellow thread.
