Resist Embossing...
An oldie but a goodie this one.
With normal resist you often get colours on your base, but with this method you retain the nice sharp white base.
Stamp and heat emboss your card with Versamark and clear embossing powder.
Using your inks (distress inks are best, but you can use others) colour your card as you choose. Your embossing may get slightly discoloured.
Now, take a clean sheet of paper, cover your card and with a hot, DRY iron, iron over your image until the embossing powder melts and you see it on the paper. It will take only seconds.
You will be left with a nice clean, smooth image. You can even use the lifted ink bit for something if you want, although I don't know what.

Re: Resist Embossing...
Aww Lorraine, I LOVE YOU!!! This technique is easy to do, works well and looks fabby. This morning I had a go and am well pleased with results. the first one, well the white paper I took out of my scrap pile and put over it turned out (couldnt beleive it myslelf) to be beige on the other side so the first one has gone cream but I kind of liked the effect and it would probably have worked with other colours too - I would not have really chosen beige for with these pinky colours! The second one I checked the paper was white both sides.
Thank you so very much for this - I love the way it is all matt now, and of course now that its all smooth again I suppose you could overstamp it with something if you wanted?
here it is anyway

Kim, I don't use a cloth, hun but I suppose you could use a thin one to protect your iron if you wanted to.
They're great, Maria. Well done. It is easy, isn't it? You don't have to use white card, as you discovered as it will obviously work with any colour and yes, you can indeed stamp over it.
I use little sponge finger daubers or Cut 'n Dry foam to blend my inks. Lay a coat down, rub well and then lay more ink on top until you get the colour depth you want.

Re: Resist Embossing...
when you say lay a coat down, do you mean like dab it on thumping from above or do you mean like dragging it on from the sides?
and now ive made these into the most super tags (though i say it myself) for a tag thingy Im making.

Whatever floats your boat, hun. I thump and drag too.Maria wrote:when you say lay a coat down, do you mean like dab it on thumping from above or do you mean like dragging it on from the sides?.
But, I favour nice circular, swirly movements.

Re: Resist Embossing...
you might not all be so keen when mum explains about the erm, decorative problems (we ran out of money before we could complete this house)
but if you do come, can one of you bring the low calorie mayonnaise?
