Fairy Door
Well, here it is anyway.
Im going to stand it up agaisnt the wall and hope it lets them in to bring me luck. I rather like it anyway and its come out much sturdier than I expected.
The door knocker and bell pull were off a necklace I bought in a charity shop for the beads - Ive used the beads loads but the clasp was just crying out to be a knocker. The hinges are grungeboard with black brads and the inside metal trim was a coke can cut with the cuttlebug. The flower fairy stamps are obvious, and the fence was a Tim Holtz mask. Hinges were from the garage but alcohol inked and then glued on.
heres the front
and heres the inside
and this is from the back

Re: Fairy Door
It's lovely Maria, I just watched a youtube video? with that masking technique on, it looks great here, liking all the decorations, a lot of work in this. I hope they do bring you luck and keep the livestock out of the roof space too.

That's lovely, Maria: has a real atmosphere about it, if you know what I mean.

Re: Fairy Door
just chipboard, but the front is double layer cos i cut one layer and then cut another to cut into planks. the back is one layer but with paper either side.
The idea, well something I read in a book actually.

Re: Fairy Door
I love fairy doors. I once saw some wooden ones for the garden and asked Bob to make one. Still waiting!

That is really lovely Maria. I love the tiny hinges that are used on these. Maybe I will get round to making one soon.

What do you mean - almost real !!!!! Of course it's real - how do
you think the fairies get in and out !!

Re: Fairy Door
exactly, and its only actually the front bit that you can see because its falt up against the wall - I only really did the inside so that if anyone ever did open it they wouldnt just see a blank space.
