Door wreath
This is the wreath I made at the workshop last week:
It was made from scratch: we covered the base with moss; I made the stars with willow twigs and everything was wired or pinned on. There are bark stars and a few natural bits and pieces, and then the wispy twig stuff was fixed over the top.
Never done anything like this before!

Re: Door wreath
Looks lovely Lynda. Oh the days when Malcolm used to make these from scratch too. Our old house had a cellar and he would spend ages down there having collected everything needed and then he made them for a friend who had a market stall so was supplied with everything.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date

Re: Door wreath
That's lovely, I like the natural look rather than bright shiny stuff.

Re: Door wreath
I could have added ribbon, Di - she had loads to choose from - or cranberries: she showed us how to preserve them to make them last the season.
Light a tealight and let it burn until all the wax is molten. Spear your cranberry on a cocktail stick and roll the cranberry round in the molten wax. Also works with all sorts of berries, but they must be reasonably solid ones to start with.

Re: Door wreath
That's a bit special, Lynda, nice work. I thought your cone things were a bee or butterfly to begin with! Then I realised it's just the way you've arranged them.
A longer string next year so that the centre is over your window LOL

Re: Door wreath
I realised afterwards that I should have fixed the wreath-hanger below the window, Karelyn - then it wouldn't have blocked out what little light we get through the glass.

Hindsight eh, I think I could do with a bucket load of that up front.
