Nestie Art...
This was a little light bulb moment I had yesterday. I was making some nestie frames again, and suddenly thought about hanging them up, so this is what I came up with.

Re: Nestie Art...
wow wow wow wow wow. Its fabulous. Thats the shape I really want next. Should have ordered it before but was daft. Hey ho, this is gorgeous. Presume you used a magnetic mat to get them lined up to cut out the frame. These nesties really do have wonderful uses.
Can just see it hanging in your crafty corner. Lovely job there Lorraine, fantastic.

Tell me more what is this all about? I thought you just cut them out. Intrigued.
It's fabulous Lorraine, love al the metal bits. Get it off to a mag and get a prize for it, before someone spots it and copies.

Re: Nestie Art...
You do just cut them out, Karelyn. But, if you want a frame, you have to use 2 nesties. Putting them on a magnetic mat before running them through the bug keeps them in place.thriftycrafter wrote:karinlouise wrote:. Presume you used a magnetic mat to get them lined up to cut out the frame.

I haven't got one, do I need one? or just hope it works, It has done before.
I hadn't actually thought of using 2 at once, I cut the larger, then the smaller, derr.

Re: Nestie Art...
Lol at karelyn. From what I can see Lorraine has used three cuts from dies . One as a single cut for the background. Then the larger die and next size down layered to cut a frame. You do of course still end up with the smaller size as a matt anyway, you just don't use it.
Before I got the magnetic mat I did try without, but the die moved at the last moment of putting the top acrylic plate on. Very fiddly. Where as the magnet acts like any magnet, the die sticks !!!

Re: Nestie Art...
OK, I'll let you into a secret. When I'd finished this, and I still hadn't seen one elsewhere, I emailed it to Craft Stamper. They get such great things sent in, I'm not holding out much hope, but thought I had nothing to lose.

I think they'll be very interested. It's something new. I hope they use it.
Would you get paid ?

Quite agree. Funnily enough I bought the April issue this morning.
Think I need to subscribe as well.

I'll make sure I get it when It gets put in, it's terrific. I only buy it occasionally as the projects are a bit too altered for me usually, but they usually have some nice techniques.

Fingers and toes crossed for you hun.
Maria your comment totally right, have always said Lorraine is the bee's knees when it comes to creations. I am always singing her praises if I talk about the forum.
There is a lot of talent on here, in all areas of crafting, I am constantly in awe of the wondeful pieces that are shown.

Just found this work of art, super use of the dies Lorraine. Before I had the magnet sheet I sellotaped the dies but it was very tricky to do.

It's a wooden skewer, Tina. I just inked it and stuck a couple of big beads on the end.Scrap Monkey wrote:
