Steph, she had a good trip with no much traffic and is now shopping for Wales!
Maria wont be able to get from France 'cause of Vocano dust.
I am trying to pursuade DH to take me to dinner tomorrow in Coventry. His first reaction was, he didn't hear me and second was hrummmph! Not very hopeful, yet.
But, have time on my side, he he. I might get to meet you and the others yet)

Poor old you Maria, we will sulk together on here
So much for us earthlings polluting the atmosphere chance would be a fine thing.
That Volcano has something to answer for!
Are you going to join in my swaps again? I miss your nice work. I will send you the latest quarterly list,
but I think I will post it to you as we dont know how long this erruption is going on for.
Apparently Iceland had one that 'blew' for 100 years! Only time will tell.
Looks like the Chunnel is a good thing after all.
It was a good job Goaty flew back to UK last weekend and not this or she would have been stranded on the continent!

Re: Teabags Retreaters Arrival and NON-Retreaters chat
yes Nona, I would love to join in again, its just time - since I took on that extra job last year I just don't have the time anymore and I was getting such a long monthly 'to do' list for crafting that it was taking the pleasure out of it. I will see what I can do, and yes, good job Goaty and also Helen came back when they did.

Re: Teabags Retreaters Arrival and NON-Retreaters chat
Rght'O' Maria I am pleased, andI didnt realise Helen was away too.
Anyway heres a true 'Volcanic' laugh for us NON-retreaters.
Our neighbours colleague was stuck on the continent whilst on bussines. He managed to get managed to get
France by using buses etc. Fine you would think. But when enquirung as to if there were any available 'walk on'
tickets to UK he was told no. Unless he had a mororbike or a cycle as that was all that there was left for yesterday.
So he dragged his luggage back to town and bought a pushbike.
Great, the ferry trip was secured. On he got with his new bike and luggage. Problem solved?
No as when he got to England he then had to get his luggage and bike back to the airport where his car was.
Although he did eventualy got home despite the Volcano.
This sound just like a cartoon characters trip, not real life in the 2010s
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile his boss was stuck in Ireland, Dublin.
He managed to get from Dublin to Galway and get a ferry (he didnt have to buy a bike ) to Hollyhead.
Unfortunately his car was stuck at Luton Airport.
Both stories are true
I heard on the news that ferries 'cant take foot passengers' .... what is that all about then? I mean they certainly used to.
Crazy! Why is a bloke with a bike more acceptable than a bloke on foot? Really makes you wonder at the people who make these rules lol.
Re: Teabags Retreaters Arrival and NON-Retreaters chat
Nona, it was so very lovely to meet you at last and to meet the equally lovely gentle Mr Nona! It was a huge surprise for us, and particularly nice for me as I have spoken to you a few times on the telephone and was so anxious to meet you "in the flesh". Thank you very much for making the effort to come. And thank you Mr Nona too, for being so patient whilst we all gabbled away together!!! xxx
Also they had to physically ride the bike onto the ferry and carry their luggage at the same time.Teabag wrote:Di Masters wrote:Crazy! Why is a bloke with a bike more acceptable than a bloke on foot?
At least they weren't made to eat garlic! I don't think the French like us much.
