Questions...questions Empty Questions...questions

Post by Guest Fri 14 May 2010 - 21:01

Hi Everyone

I am just looking through the forum and keep thinking of questions (some of which I keep forgetting to ask Karin on a Monday night) so though I would post and ask, hope its ok and in the right place:

What is RAK's?
What are Twinchies?

How do you get such clear pictures of your cards you download I have a pretty good camera (or so I thought) and they just dont seem to be coming out very well. I am hoping I have downloaded on here for you to have a look at, seems a bit blurry, will keep trying

well RAK is 'random act of kindness' and its when people suddenly send you something. Twinchies are two inch by two inch pieces of art work, like ATC but smaller.

I cannot seem to get decent pics of my layouts either so i'll let someone else answer the photo question!

Lou or Bobs are probably the best to answer photo question, the only thing that occurs to me from looking at your pic is are you trying to get too close to your card? Have you tried pulling back just a bit and seeing if it's clearer. Also try to take them in daylight so that you don't get the flash reflection.

Pretty card by the way!

When I take my pictures, I try either to do during the day or if in the evening with my daylight lamp on (drop that one in there lol).

I take my pictures from a bit of distance then I crop them down on the PC.

Hope that helps a little

Me too about taking daytime photos. Night ones never seem much good for me.
I can't see your photo - just a red cross - did you remove it ?

The RAK list : I thjink IIRC (if I remember correctly) is only available after
3 months membership or so many posts. Lorraine will be able to tell you.
That thread has everyones names and addresses on - used mainly for
birthdays and Christmas.

As above or scan it if you have a scanner, which isn't so good for bumpy thigs like ribbon bows.
I take my LO's in the garden , put them on the floor and try to stand so that the camera is directly over the LO, with varying success, I take a few and one is usually ok.
Pretty card.

Yep, when you start doing the swaps, the RAK list is opened to you as you'll need addresses.
The main point of a RAK's list is that you sometimes send people little crafty gifts as a surprise (hence Random Act of Kindness), but now we do so much stuff and swaps all the time, we just use it mainly as an address book, lol.

I don't know what kind of camera you have, so I'd follow the advice above, Emma. Daylight is always best or a daylight lamp directly over the card to avoid shadows. I often do that if I want to take a pic at night, but I have a DSLR and so can use lots of settings.
