Paper Piecing

Not something I've ever done before but thought I'd give it a go seeing as it seems to be popular again. I just chose any old image that I thought would work so it's cutesy again, but I think I actually like the technique.

Paper piecing is where you cut out parts of the image and stick it over the original, (or build a complete image from cut out pieces).
I stamped Charley onto plain card, then onto pink paper and then onto green paper. I cut out her hat and dress from the same papers as the background and stuck them in place over the original. The rest of her was coloured with promarkers.

I actually used to look at peoples cards where they'd done this and wonder how the hell they'd got something to match the backgrounds. My brain just didn't register how it was done, pmsl. Easy peasy!

Very effective, needs to be actually seen to appreciate how you did it but it makes a lovely card.

Oooooooooooo paper PIECING! I read it as paper piercing and was like, I cant see any piercing??? lol

I've not done it like that before, just cut out all the bits to make an image, I like this with the parts made up of pp but the imortant bits still stamped singularly IYSWIM.

I did as well Kate could not see wher the piercing was, then read it again, isn't that like the teddy bears we did a couple of years ago, I think I still have mine.

Haven't done that for ages and used to use Charley a lot when I did! Very pretty
