Another Craft Shop Closes...

...our local craft shop that I have been going to card classes for nearly 5 years is closing. On the 1st April she will be shutting the door for the last time. She hasn't been making money for a long long time, but has been supplementing by the shows. She's decided thou that its time.

Emma and I will need to make special arrangements to still get together as we won't see each other as often.

We're all so so sad, there's loads of bargains to be had, but its going to be so difficult not getting chance to get the stuff we need close by. Hobbycraft and the Range are just not good enough.

forgot to say....more to Di really, she has a sale on and lots of things are reduced. Might be worth a look if you can hun.

That's such a shame, Karin. She must have tried really hard to keep going.
I'd be lost without Claire in Horncastle and now Jo Channon has opened one in Coningsby, so we're ok round here. Mind you, I still like shopping online, lol.

Where is it Karin? Might have to come and have a nosey..........

With the crafting business booming you would think they thrive
but I suppose with internet and tv shopping these days they have
a lot of overheads. Such a shame.

It is such a shame, its so great to get some time to myself, with lovely people and doing something I love. We have such a laugh, I really hope we make the effort to get together even if it isnt every week.

The internet is sometimes cheaper, but Velda was often so cheap I thought how could she be making money!

I just wish her well, and hope things get a bit better for her, and eventually a few select of us can get together at her house!

PS - DI its down Albert Avenue in West Hull, if you know it off Anlaby Road? Let me know if you are not sure and can give you better directions, she has loads of stock already discounted and I think she is continuing!

seems to be happening with too many nowadays . i wish we had a decnet scrapbooking shop close to us . we have a decent cardmakers shop with honeypot but its not much cop for scrapbookers . i agree hobbycrafts and the range are ok if you have nothing else to go to

such a shame ,i hope you get some bargains from the sale at least

Di, if you go down Spring Bank West and turn into Albert ave from there, its Paper Roses about 12-15 houses down on the left.

Well went to The Lowry today to find our Paper Mill had closed down

i thought all the papermill shops went ages ago so you were lucky to have kept your local one til now

Oh No Di, Ireally hope you didn't have much in it. I'll try to remember to ask at the shop if anyone might have handed it in, where you that end, or further down.

another Kate, not fair is it. Velda was thinking before of doing internet shop but its like she said, she's not had any wages for ages, and the debts pile up with the shop so its best to do clean cut. If she does net she still needs somewhere to store it all.
