MINI POCKET BOOK - March 2011

Meant to say last night (but a third share in two bottles of wine at dinner didn't do much for my brain) that the reason I didn't put much decoration on the mini-book is because once I'd made it up it looked more appropriate for a man/boy. That's why I put things inside instead, as I didn't want to short-change whoever got it.

Mine went in the post this morning.
I managed to get 3 extra pockets in it and have put 4 matching themed tags in,
(made from trash, guess the product) but they can be thown away if not needed.

Oh heck, tomorrow is last day for posting! Will go and pack it up now, sending First Class in the morning.

Mine parcelled up ready to go in post tomorrow.

Have to apologise too Lorraine as mine only went in the post today a bit of a mixup with something when I went to the PO the other day, so sorry for the delay.

No worries girls. It's not life or death is it and if they arrive, I can get them done over the weekend. If not, then they'll have to wait, lol.

Tina's and Cynthia's gorgeous books arrived today though.

Cynthia, your purply (that's a purple pinky, lol) wasn't franked so I'm going to send that back to you to use for the next swap.

Looks like mine is lost then as it went on Monday. Wont get another one done before this coming Monday as I'm at Tina's then working sunday so I guess just go on without me. Used Prima papers aswell.

At the risk of getting up the nose of everyone (and I am ready to take that risk) I do feel sad that people commit then drop out for some reason or another because Lorraine is always so good at organising everything and she has had so much on her plate (and yes, I do realise not everyone is as "free" as I am!) but it seems so rude to leave her "hanging" so to speak.

Patty, I'm with you on this as well. It's not the fact that people have forgotten to post; I'm certain that we have all done that....but the not communicating is frankly a bit rude. I know that Kim has already said hers is done, and probably in the post by now....but do we know if the remaining books are being sent, or made, or what?

Yes Tina, at the risk of pressing a point, I always think it is better NOT to commit to do something unless you intend doing it!!

Is there some rule (or perhaps there should be one) that says if you miss a swap/are really late etc etc then you can't join one for X months? Of course, it wouldn't be right to enforce this if someone had a major health/family/work/house problem mid-swap and had to drop out. (Hope it doesn't sound like I'm being goody-goody, as I purposely missed out on doing swaps while we were working on the house for this very reason, as well as at some points not being able to get to anything.)

On a practical level, and bearing in mind that the majority of swaps go via Lorraine for allocating out, it makes it difficult for her to arrange her non-Canny life: if she's put aside a day/days to photograph, sort, envelope and post the swaps just after receipt day but things over-run, then she's faced with either waiting till another free day/days or cancelling something else she wanted to do. Late arrivals also cut down the time to make her own entry for the following month's swap.
