Difficult Papers. Empty Difficult Papers.

With Steph's comment in tuther thread, I thought I'd do an album for my photographs. Mr Green I told you that I got the QVC TSV last week and it's all Cosmo Cricket, which I love and I thought as they're all 8 x 8 I'd use them for my album.

Oh boy! How hard are they???? They're soooooooooo dark and gloomy and I'm really struggling with them. I did my front page and then started on a page with my fly on, and it just looks awful. I'm gutted and gobsmacked. Crying or Very sad

Not only that, but working in 8 x 8 is really hard too. I'm so used to 12 x 12.
I've printed my pics at 6 x 4, 'cause I want to be able to see them, but I'm wondering if I ought to go down to 5 inches and leave more paper to use.

I'm stuck already and I've only just started. Peeing Laughing

yes, best you send all the gloomy papers over here - i luv em.

are you planning on having much journalling on the pages too?

I struggle now with anything smaller than 12x12. The photo seems to take up all the page of anything smaller, and i have loads of bits to crop out of mine, which I doubt you do....

your into page looks great. I bet the difficult papers would suit that perspective one I love, and the sauce bottles and stuff.

I had the same set as Lorraine. I know what you mean Lorraine. I wouldn't call
them gloomy, but most are very plain. I haven't used them as albums yet, will
probably use lots of it on 12 x 12 for matting, and for cards/ATCs. I have never
scrapped 8 x 8 and think it might be diffcult for me, but having said that, I find the
CJs fine to work with and most of those are smallish.

Yeah. Strange that, Steph. I'm the same. CJ's are easy, but honestly, this 8 x 8 is causing me a problem. Maybe I'm thinking in 12 x 12 mode..i.e. LO - but with the CJ you know you have to cram loads on and accommodate for that in the first place. Dunno!!

Hopefully, something will come together. Kim, I may have to just add other stuff to cheer them up a bit. I don't really want a photo album to be 'dull' - or, I might just use my other stuff and leave the CC for another day. Mr Green

Actually, that's a thought. The CC stuff would be great for altered books, mini books and stuff like that, 'cause I love the old, gloomy colours for them. Mr Green

well i certainly would think you were better not committing yourslef to one particular set of papers cos all the photos are going to be different, and who knows what will go with them until you try.

i would use whatever you think suits the photo best.

I prefer working on 8x8, would struggle with 12x12... or use all my embellishments on one page lol!

Just because it came as a kit it doesn't mean that's the only paper you can use in that album, and you can mix in other papers too. Work as you would usually and if it's letting the photo be your lead, then go for that. You might want to get some smaller prints if they're not cropable though.

To be honest, rarely do I use stuff for what is was originally intended. Kits/packs
are broken up for making anything and everything.

Most of my minibooks are made using old and distressed looking papers. If they're too new looking, I have to age them and ink them and sand them and chalk them to within an inch of their lives! lol!
