Question on digi downloads Empty Question on digi downloads

Post by supergran Wed 8 Jun 2011 - 16:30

I have just been looking at a whole lot of very nice free downloads, but can't see how you can down load some of the things that are with the kits ie; brads, wooden items, etc;, papers, ribbons and tags I can understand, except some of the papers were 12x12, thats to big for a printer, so can some one tell me about the others, as there was a lot of really nice kits that would be okay for cards.

Not sure where you are looking, but if they're brads and ribbons etc, I imagine they're for digital scrapping rather than 'printables' for cards.

You can get free trial versions of digi scrapping packages, 'Serif' is the oen that springs to mind.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

They're usually for digi or hybrid projects so you can print out the image of the ribbon or whatever and cut it out of card/paper or use it digi, it's all very flat unless you decoupage or add glossy accents or something to it. You can get the kit and just use the papers if you like, forget the rest.

If its Digi Scrapbooking this is basically so you can do 12x12 scrapbook pages on your PC, which unless you have a special type of printer you can't really print off. Largest you can print off is 8x8 which I've done in the past.

You'd need a program like adobe photoshop to use it.

You probably could print off the ribbons and stuff then cut them out, i think I've done that previously, but generally they are designed to be used on the PC

Thanks Kate, that seems such a waste of time to me as you cant put it in an album, I know you could print it out , but the whole thing about scrapping is the decoration as well as the picture, it must look very flat otherwise, or am I wrong.

Nope, exactly that Billie, flat. Ideal for digi scrapping, can be useful for cards, but if you want dimension you need to add it. You can resize this though to use for cards or anything you want, which is good.
I don't have a fancy/complicated system I just use the MS software that came with the pc, I can't cope with photoshop.
