Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
Never occurred to me, that. Just as well the rest of you have brains eh?
I sent mine in a padded envie because they're not flat, but sent a flat one for return assuming that the ones I receive will be. But then I usually forget about the 'return' ones, and it's often a surprise that something arrives, I get so caught up with the sending side of it

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
Ah, but this is a great way to remember to enclose everything, Billie! You've got your own swap, inside the envie/Jiffy that everything is coming back in, so you get it all labelled and stamped up ready for Lorraine to send it back. Then just pop it in an outside envelope, address it to Lorraine and stamp it and send it. That way you know everything's included.

Did my flowers arrive today, Lorraine? Or is second class post getting slower between here and Lincolnshire?

I had a text from Jo last night. She had done her flowers but forgot to post them, so I said we'd wait.

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
That's fine, Lorraine: she's such a busy girl and they'll only be a day or two late - maybe she was thinking it would be the end of the month like a lot of the other swaps have been.

Oh good oh!Forgot to say I popped money in I hope its enough. Couldn't get any stamps at that time of the morning.
Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
It's fine Jo.
No way to write on the back of these, so you'll all have to check the pics to see whose you've got.

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
Yes, that struck me too, Lorraine: I did put my sticker on each of the little bags with mine in, but once they're out of the bags there's no trace.
Looking forward to seeing the piccies!

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
lyndaejane wrote:After all this time doing swaps, I've realised that the way to send it to make it easiest for Lorraine is to put the swap in the envelope/Jiffy with your address and postage on and then put the whole thing in another envelope addressed to Lorraine. I used to send my stuff in just the one envelope/Jiffy, with a label and stamp, so poor Lorraine had to open it carefully and then when she sent out my swap she had to stick the label on, put some sticky tape over it and stick the stamp on (as well as sealing it up). Funny how the simplest things take the longest for the penny to drop.
Of course, if the outer envelope doesn't get franked, Lorraine can re-use that herself!
Lynda
I used to do it the reverse, send a seperate envelope inside, but never thought about the careful opening bit, thanks for that, sorry Lorraine for any past annoyances with envelopes LOL, I suppose if its jiffy bags, for the most part they are re-usable but on occasion they do get a bit torn eh. I've had a few recently of non franked stamps.

Just had a look at all the flower photos. Really pushed for time today so cannot comment individually but they are all lovely (except, evidently, my buttons!!!) Thanks, as ever, Lorraine for all your hard work doing these swaps. xx

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
Sorry Patty it's not your buttons it's just buttons, they're like butterflies/spiders to me, somehow for no valid reason they're just not something I naturally use, I have used them of course, force myself to sometimes, but I'm teased about it a lot. They always seem to look better and more at home on the work of others too.

Re: FEBRUARY 2012 - FLOWERS
I don't mind butterflies, not keen on spiders (or snakes) but they don't bother me too much, wouldn't mind them on an ATC.
Better go and check though Lynda, I don't want you lot bombarding me with buttons now LOL
