Die storage

Just received some Quickutz monogram dies from America. I expected them to be the small, 2 x 2 dies - which are the only ones I've seen from Quickutz - but they're the thin steel dies like Nesties and Memory Box, and the letters are about 2.5" high (fine by me). So I guess I'm going to have to think about storage, now I have these 7 plus a few Memory Box. I know magnetic storage is the way to go: what does everyone use?

The girl running the shop was giving a free gift with purchases during her sale: turned out to be two sets of clear stamps, one flourishes, one the most sensible alphabet stamps I've ever seen, with 3 of each letter so you can actually stamp a whole word!

I still have my dies in a shoe box but I do have plans to make a file like Lorraine and Cath have done on day.

I know someone who has a magnetic strip down the side of a shelf unit and has them all out and to hand.
Mine are on A6 pieces of magnetic sheet in a small plastic document/file folder, you know the sort with the sections in.
Lorraine has gorgeous folders with hers in.

Yes, I remember the folder Lorraine made for hers, Karelyn. That's probably the way I shall go, although doesn't it get a bit pricey buying all the magnetic sheets? Like the idea of a strip down the shelf unit, but I don't use them as much as that and they'd just get dusty.

My dies are in boxes, Alison - which is fine for 'normal' dies but not much good for the thin steel ones. Started with the thin steel ones just as singles (the Memory Box ones): left in their envelopes, they can stay in a box or go in a folder, but the multiple ones just fall about.

The magnetic sheets aren't really expensive Lynda. You can get a pack of 2 or 3 A4 sheets for a fiver or less. My original folders that I made to keep mine in were A6 size pieces, so got 4 from a sheet.

Oh, that's not too bad then, Lorraine. Will have to go and look in the galleries at your binder you made and, as Alison said, Cath made one too so hers should be there - although I might cop out and just use an A5 ring-binder!

I use spider free dvd cases or an A4 file with magnetic sheets for the larger ones
