random quilting projects; image heavy!
well, my papercraft mojo is definitely on holiday somewhere, but I have been spending any spare (non-running) time sewing, and finally have a few things to show you.
When Scatty and I went to Malvern a couple of weeks ago, yet again I spent time drooling over the Quilter's Guild stand, and in particular cathedral window quilts. So, I bought a little kit to make a pincushion: I love this technique, and am already planning a full-scale version.
On a patchwork forum I am a member of, we are doing a block swap over 12 months. We have specified the colours that we wish to receive (mine are black and white), and each month we make a block to send to someone else. This month is a 'square in a square' for a lady called Helen, who wants red and white:
This is a good way for me to learn new patterns.
And finally, the Block of the Month that I am doing. Lots of applique and hand stitching, which is great because it means I can take it down the road to craft club on a Monday night:
Month 1 ; first attempt at friendship stars; not perfect, but mine!
Month 2 This border is a bit tedious, but will be worth it when complete.
This quilt will have some gorgeous little wooden buttons on (i.e a teabag at the end of the string), but they have to be added at the very end once it is all put together and quilted.

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date
Re: random quilting projects; image heavy!
You're doing fantastically well, Tina! Please do bring some of your pieces to let us see at the retreat - so nice to have yet another craft being done on the forum.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, just like they should be.

Wow! Tina. You're getting really good at that. I totally love that pincushion technique.

These are lovely Tina. Apparently my niece is doing some quilting, I'll have to find out what she's doing.
