The new man in my life Empty The new man in my life

Well, you knew it was going to happen sooner rather than later, even Phil's Mum wasn't surprised when I phoned her and told her Wink The reason I have been a bit quiet the past few days is that we have been settling this little man in. He is around 2 (we think), and came from the local rescue; originally a poundie, previously homed with a family who have had to give him up because the couple are divorcing (he wants the dog but has moved to a flat, she has the house but doesn't want the dog). He is a staffie, with the most amazing tiger-striped brindle coat, very willing to please and affectionate. Very playful, which is rather a shock for Archie who had got used to lazy boy Taffi, but they are getting on pretty well so far.

Will admit I don't like Staffies, something about the face/look, but hope you all enjoy each others company and he settles in to his new home.

If he is anything like the one next door had (recently gone to live elsewhere) Archie is in for a hectic time! It used to "bounce" about all the time, great at jumping 6 foot fence too.

Love the name, looks a bit scary to me too, but it's different when you meet them IRL I know. especially as someone who was terrified of shepherds, married a dog handler and ended up owning one.

Hello Harvey. He's just lovely Tina. My bro has a staffie and he's a pussycat too. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with him.

I do know what you mean Karelyn, but they get terrible press. In Victorian times staffies were called 'nanny dogs' as they are so good with children! This little man lived with quite small kids, and he is very gentle.

Now GSD's I am scared of, but due an 'incident' when I was little . Sorry Bailey ;)

Ditto Tina, one leapt out from a gate when I was on my way home from Brownies in the dark (alone, like you could in those days) and bit me, so I would cross the road when I saw one coming, until I met Mick and there was only one way to go after that.
