GION - Wall Hanging

Well, I finished it.  My first wall hanging.  It measures 23 x 29.  I couldn't resist this fabric when I saw it, I think it's beautiful.  There's gold running all through it too, which doesn't show well on the pics.  There's a few mistakes, some of which I didn't even notice until I looked at the photo, but overall, I'm pretty chuffed with it.





The three main panels that I chose from the yardage.  The rest of the fabric was a bundle of 5 fat quarters and there's loads left over too. I had no idea you could get so much out of a relatively small piece of fabric.

Fabulous design, Lorraine: the black sashing makes you think of black lacquer-work, which is probably what you meant it to. Bet it will look good hung up.

I think they've changed the bundle slightly Billie. I didn't get any of that 3rd one from the bottom I got a paler version of the pink floral one. Also, I can't find the yardage which is what the geisha's were on. But, if you want to search, the fabric collection is Gion by Red Rooster hun.

It's in my lounge Cath, that's it above hanging on my orange wall. Not sure I like it though, instant clutter, lol. Might move it to the bedroom next to my Madam Butterfly framed poster.
