I am updating my website and have now got the online shop operational, even though I will be adding more things over the next day or so.

I would love some feedback, good or critical, about any aspect of it (even any spelling mistakes I may have missed!). e.g. I had though about moving the menu to the right hand side as most people are right handed and it is quicker to get to with the mouse - even though the traditional way is to have it on the left (apparently because we read left to right). Do the pictures take ages to load, what about the colour scheme etc?

I still need to do a Terms & Conditions page and put a bit more in the About page - but hate that bit as it is supposed to be about me and we all know how good we are at promoting ourselves! You may notice I have changed the spelling of my name; Nicky to Nicci, to fit in with the website name - I like to think of it as my 'professional' name Website Review Please 523427

Whilst you are there don't forget to sign up to the Mailing List to be in the Prize Draw for one of my pendants (the ones with the lampwork bead in the middle - they are in the shop. The Winner gets to choose one!) Website Review Please 346459

I think its best to have the menu on the left, its where we look and it means it will be seen quicker.

I love that you can click on a photo to see a bigger picture, but once I'd seen it I didn't realise straight away what I needed to do to get back to the page I had been on. Maybe needs a little header something like "close to return to page"

I also think its great that you have put the length of the earrings from the wire...too many say the length of only the drop part.

Lovely site, well done. Can't wait to see more of your designs.

xx

I think it's a very well thought out site. Everything there that I would
want to know. My only thought is that the brown background is a little dull.
I would want to make the homepage a little more warm and welcoming, but
other than that, it's fine.

I think its fab Nicci. LOVE the jewellery you have been making, and isnt Julie's Lampwork the dogs B*****s! Im going to the chepstow racecourse bead show next sunday and julie is going to be there, i soooo desperately need to stock up on her fabulous beadies!

A job well done on your site i would say, the pics are lovely. Descriptions are very informative, and its easy to navigate. I will have a good look tomorrow, when my eyes are more awake hehe.

Good on ya hun! I hope you make lots of sales!

I like it, Nikki. The background looks a deep purple to me, not brown.

It doesn't display properly on the Google Chrome browser though, although it's perfect with IE. Nothing you can do about that though, it's down to Mr Site to update their end.

I like the colours and your display.

Absolute first impression was: What no pictures!
When I open it I have to scroll down to see the jewellery, maybe a thumbnail in the header part?
Lovely classy purple, my pc is generally being quite slow right now, but it's taking awhile for the pics to load, just over 1 min. Another one came up in about 8 secs though, no logic there.
I would have liked larger pics initially, but lovely site, couldn't see any spelling mistakes LOL

NIcci I love your website and your jewellery is fab. No problems when I look at a large picture, there is a little cross to close that picture window.

Well done and good luck, you have been working hard.

Thank you everyone!!

Karin - there should be a little cross displayed at top right of each picture to close it, but I agree it doesn't tell you what to do - can't change that unfortunately as it is a 'template' website and most processes are set up already. You can't add any more text to the picture - the text dispalyed beneath the pic is taken directly from the item description on the main page.

Steph - background is a subtle purple, but perhaps it is too subtle LOL!! I didn't want it too bright, but maybe room for improvement!

Carol - I usually spend a good few hours at the bead fair on the Sunday - will PM you my number so we can at least say Hello!

Lou - I have heard that MrSite owners can't edit in Google Chrome either, but there are obviously not enough people complaining about on the MrSite Forum for MrSite to do anything about it.

Karelyn - I will check the picture sizes and compress the larger ones if necessary. I supposed because they are all cached on my PC they open immediately for me(?).

I'll have another play with Home page, background colour, and pics next week. Might be some more items to go on too.

Thanks again! Website Review Please 225358

Yes I did see the cross in the end, but when the picture loads it wasn't in view. I understand that its a template though and you can't add anything to make it easier.

Well I can vouch for the speed of delivery and lovely packaging, I rather fancied treating myself to a pair of earrings, which came today, with an extra pressie too. Unfortunately for me DD has it, thank you so much, Nicky very pleased with it all.
