Re: When do you start
Now is fine Billie, anytime from now to November and I would plant them separately because they form into clusters after the first year anyway. The thing is to be sure to plant them deep enough.

Re: When do you start
Yep now is the time to start. I plant mine in small groups, leaving bit of space between each to allow for growth (if you are lucky enough to get more than one year - which I often don't lol) , but they look more natural in a group I think eg half a dozen crocus together in space about saucer size. Like Maria said make sure you put them at right depth - should tell you on pack.
What are you planting? I must get some more, had very few come up this year. They said on Gardeners World last night that there is going to be a shortage of bulbs too, so buy any you want now to be sure of getting them.

Re: When do you start
Not sure yet going to garden centre tomorrow and see, definately some of the daffy family, and maybe some crocuses, and would like tulips, like the tall flowers better than the small ones saying that though my favourite is snowdrops but have not had success when someone planted some for me in another garden.
