Christmas tree festival Empty Christmas tree festival

Post by thriftycrafter Sun 28 Nov 2010 - 21:26

DD and I went to the Christmas tree festival this afternoon, 44 trees alll the same size, decorated by local organisations in Beccles, which is a little town near us, where the kids go to school and cadets. 15 were decorated by children's organisations and the rest cover all sorts from the Red Hat society, Tesco, Christian Aid to individuals from the church. It's always a lovely thing to do and even the BH's among us would enjoy the handmade items if nothing else.
I'll have to try and find out who the winners were.

This was one of the children's trees with their pics and angel bodies, the leaders had sheep bodies, it was cute and funny.

Beaded angels, I thought, I know someone who could knock these up sharpish, they were pretty.

By the cubs entitled 'Best of British'with a topical pick of the young newly engaged royals.

This was a good local one, In Norfolk/Suffolk ladybirds are called bishy bishy barny bees (don't ask, there is a rhyme) a local village is called Barnby, pronounced Barnaby by some, so this was their playgroup's.

This one nearly got my vote, peg dolls in scottish costume by the Caledonian society

This one got my vote in the adult section it was so different and great fun, a Poultree

A close up of some of the poultry, they were funny and all different, nice eggs too.

This one showed a lady sponsored by the church and her sewing projects

One of the children's groups entries with gingerbread, yum, there was a gingerbread house at the foot of the tree too.

This was our youth club's entry which I voted for, it was nice and saved me dithering for ages over which one to choose, they made all the cupcakes with felt and papercases.

Not sure you can see this well enough, but it had fabric decos made by the local sewing shop, very well made and beautiful fabrics.

Another kids one with Rudolph's made using their handprints

This one had stars on

Fab pics! The church at the end of our road had a tree festival last year; my favourite was 'Little Donkey', inspired by the Carol; the tree was covered in carrots!

No, I'm not putting my 'to do' list here, that would be far to organised, PLUS I would have to keep it up to date  Laughing

They're all great, Karelyn. A strange tradition methinks, but horses for courses, lol. They do look good though and yes, I like the Poultree one too, lol.

Some clever ideas there. Like the Poultree one and the reindeers with the hands as antlers.

Sorry about the deletioins, I tried to put them in an album after I'd put them up here and that caused chaos, should have done it first.
