Re: New year swap?
That's a good take on the inspiration, Ruth. I've given up with Making Cards, used to buy it every month, but the papers and stamps in recent months have, shall we say, not been to my taste!

What annoys me is pretty much the first 3/4s is dedicated to what you can make with the enclosed papers (nothing special as the quality of the images is rubbish), but also what you can make with the freebies you get each month if you sign up for emails and the special downloads that are an extra for subscribers. I want to see more cards made using things that are new to me, not just print a precoloured image out, however I suppose on balance it is cheaper to make cards that way. I think if the card designs were more interesting then maybe I'd not feel I've wasted my money.
Re: New year swap?
It wasn't as many pages as that for using the papers when I last took it, Ruth, so they must have changed it. They used to have nice papers, although a lot of their images were cutesy so they got used for scrap paper: still have a lot of their stuff and the special Christmas edition (which didn't turn up this year, so I thought they'd gone bust) always had nice projects.

Nice bright card Ruth.
I bought making cards yesterday, used to subscribe ages ago but gave up. Wasn't really impressed with it at all.

Re: New year swap?
Nothing sorted for this month?
How about a 3/2/1 challenge. 3 patterned papers, 2 embellishments, 1 ribbon.

Re: New year swap?
Feb swap is now showing under Other Challenges as it's not specific to scrapbooking or cardmaking. I have started sorting out my craft stuff, actually that's a lie, I have brought a duster, antibacterial wipes and a bin bag upstairs but that's a start isn't it?
Re: New year swap?
wow you lovely girls, youve all done them and super efforts they are too. Loved your card the best Di, but also Ruths and Caths lovely layout. Everyones was nice, its just nice to be doing them, sorry i wasnt around at the time to comment. Lets try and keep the momentum going, will go and look at febs and join in that now.
