I have to be really thirsty to drink tea

Tea always looks so refreshing, but the taste - ugh.

Have you tried it with only a very small amount of milk, I always think its the milk that makes it taste Ugh. My dear FIL used to save the cream for me to put into my teak, never could understand that I didn't need to be spoilt

Misty, I usually have my one cup of coffee at about 10.30am. I have always disliked milk anyway, but after my DH and I both got high cholesteral last year I stopped milk altogether apart from the small amount we have in our porridge each morning.

Have you tried fruit teas?

Some but I'd sooner have a whisky they seem too bland.

Tried fruit tea - as Nona said - bland and nothing fruity about it. I just
don't like the smell or taste of tea. Love my coffee.

Probably about 6 months. I use it for everything from Coffee and Tea to Custard and Gravy.

We don't change the filter every time either. Just give it a shake and if it sounds like sand inside then theres still plenty of life left in it. Put it back and re-set it. Ours usually lasts 2 resets, so thats 3 times using. Never had to descale yet either, its never given us the warning light.



I like certain drinks for certain times, I think its how we were brought up. For instance. Fish and Chips must be a cup of Tea. Bacon or Egg butty must be Coffee. Salads are always Tea.

Thanks for the 'Quick-Cup tips Karin, I chucked a cartridge away at the begining of this month but I'll shake the next one now. Like you I use it for most hot drinks but sometimes have to microwave the cuppa soups to thicken them.
I don't know how we managed without our 'quick-cup' it's the best gizzmo I have bought for a long while.

Yeh they are too expensive but I have had my eyes on them since August and waited untill they came down in price. I got mine from Comet the beggining of December.
It must save a bomb in electricity though as I only use my propper kettle about once or twice a week now.
11pm. Just got my 1st 6 today.

Are they really hot enough for tea? Have heard that they don't quite get there

Yes they are hot enough for tea using teabags and you can ajust the flow of water so you get what you need in your cup or mugs.
It is not quite boiling but it's OK.

For us its the best thing ever. It said in the blurb that it saved enough electricity over a year to power a house with 10 x 100w bulbs for 3 months. THATS A LOT!!

It costs a fiver for the cartridges but thats only every few months for us.

I find it hot enough for everything. Coffee, Tea, Hot Choc, Custard, Gravy, Sauces. We haven't got a kettle at all, don't see the point. If I needed 100º boiling water, I'd pour a cup from QC and then MW for 30 seconds. Still less elec.

Thing that seems to get me though, its got it in for me, cos its always my drink that the water runs out on !!!!! I'm not kidding its every blooming time it runs out its my drink under the spout.

Does it filter the water as well. We always do here coz the water is full of chlorine and it doesn't make a good cuppa so we filter before water goes into a kettle. We said that the next kettle we buy will have a filter in but maybe this might do the job instead.

Yes Misty it does filter the water. I only use my 'normal' kettle if I want a large quantity of boiling water for anything.

Sorry Misty, thats what I meant by Cartridge. We live ina Hard Water area so need it anyway. Go on you know you want one

Its so quick too. Imagine you have an advert break, you need a drink. All you need to do is put stuff in cup and press a button. Within 30 seconds you have a hot cuppa. No putting kettle on, waiting for it to boil. And by tht time the film is back on !!!!!
