how much is your room karin? i checked the rooms are £48 a night.

I'm like you Kate not ready and don't know how to get ready as my craft room gets taken over on Sunday by my YS coming home for a week so got 2 days to sort it all out eeekk

I'm not ready either, but I'm sure I will be, lol.

Mines £48 as well thanksfully. When it first went up on the forum it was £47 and the lady said the prices now are completely different, so goodness knows how much they are now I'm not bothered about paying that little bit extra, i actually thought it was because I am in a room on my own and thats why I asked the girl. She said no, and the rest I've already said !!

I have done the twinchies! Nothing else just the twinchies. However kids are back at school next week, have no appointments, have done all birthday cards needed so hopefully I'll be sorted by Thursday

Twinchies are about all I've done too, Ruth - although I still think they need something more (how much can you cram onto something 2" square?). Must be careful not to overdo it, though.

In typical fashion, the retreat weekend has turned out to be the weekend when everything is happening, with nothing for the rest of the year. Having just joined Durham County Cricket, the first 4-day match of the season - against Essex, our old county - starts next Thursday, so we'll only be able to go to one day of it. Some friends from Leicester are coming up to N Yorks with a party of friends on the Saturday: they have some free time on that day only and would have liked to meet us for lunch. And on the Saturday evening, the local choral society (whose previous concert was cancelled due to the weather) have their next concert. Always the way, isn't it.

the rooms are still £48. i went look even for next weekend at this late date. i did see some for £64 though.

must be something else she was talking about then.

That's a bummer, Lynda. You'll miss some good things there. Never mind though, it'll be more fun in Coventry.

im sure you will have more fun with us lynda .cricket is on all through the summer ,your friends will visit again and the choir will have another concert.so dont think about it too much then you shall not feel as if you are missing out .

Well said Kim. It's typical though isn't it for more than one thing
to fall on the same day.
Last year, Lauren had never been a bridesmaid, then two weddings and
two invitations to be a bridesmaid came along - on the same day.
And with organising, she did make both.

My twinchies are done . All I'm missing next weekend is the chance to ferry Rachel back and forth to parties, so I'm not bothered!

I am having terrible trouble doing my twincies as my printer is playing up, and since my computer went down Lesley had to set it back up on Vista and having great difficulty finding the picture I was going to use, but I will keep struggling.

Oh, I know we shall have fun next weekend, Kim: the thing I really didn't want to miss is the cricket. Essex have only just gone up to the first division, so could well go back down next year and so I won't get to see them again.

Sorry you're having so much trouble with your twinchies, Billie: can't you do something with stamps instead?

Don't know how I'm going to get everything done in the next four days. What with doc's appointments for mum, my own appointments, babysitting, getting the house cleaned, getting stuff ready for Ruth for her mum sitting stint and sorting all the craft stuff too!!!!

I've now got the kids until 1.00 on Friday too, so won't get away as early as I'd hoped which means I MUST have everything done by Thursday evening. Whew!!!!! I better get a wriggle on tomorrow, lol.

Well I'm working all week. I have done my twinchies, and other than that will basically pack for a normal crop. If I get to sort stuff for the challenges that'll be a bonus. Mind you Lou, I see your problem; you can't really not pack stuff, given how much you're organising!

Well, it's my own fault really. Would you believe that I forgot the retreat!!!! and Nic booked a driving lesson after having to change her last one for me. I put it in my diary and then remembered the date, lol. I can't let her down now.

oh well if its a driving lesson it will finish on time .

and at least you will have had a cuddle with the kids right before you come away so it will last you all weekend

Okay, so I'm a bit dim on occasion, but it has only just occurred to me to see who's coming, and more importantly to look at a map.

Jane and I are pretty much driving past Scatty's door . I wonder if she'd like a ride in the big blue fun bus?
