INCHIE SWAP...with a difference????

I reckon it's time we had a swap to start the new year off, girls. So, I've come up with this idea.

An inchie swap, but with a bit of a twist.

Your inchies are to be 2 inches square. You are to make 12 of them. On each inchie will be 1 letter to spell over the 12, CANNY CRAFTER.

At the end of the swap, you will all make your inchies up onto a page or board or anything you like to make into a wall hanging for your craft rooms, private space or a LO for your scrapbook...whatever you want. This finished piece is to be posted on the forum for us all to see.

I will receive all the inchies and scan them as usual. After the finished pieces are posted on the forum, I will then post piccies of everybodies individual ones.

So, I'll give you plenty of time to get this finished.

Sign up by Tuesday 3rd February.
Inchies to me by Tuesday 24th February.
Finished piece to be uploaded by Sunday 8th March.

Please don't forget postage and addressed envi.

Just re-read the instructions. So do we actually swap with someone
else or do we keep our own. I know you said 'swap' but I read it as
though we would keep our own.

I too read it as make a batch, send to Lorraine, she sends back and you make with them. Then show us by the date. So its a two part thing. Swap then Make.


Put me down please hun, I've thought about it long enough, for all of ten minutes, and decided I would hate to miss out on the opportunity to hang my work.

Yep, that's it exactly. OK, Steph? I'll try and match colours and stuff, but you'll probably all end up with a very eclectic, colourful piece of artwork.

One thing I forgot to say, girls. If some of the inchies don't get here until the last minute - hopefully NONE will be late - I'll extend the date to upload your finished piece, giving me time to sort, swap and post back to you all.

can we do all the same twinchies but just change the letter on each...or should each twinchy be different? i am betting 50p you say 'do as ya like'...

Any for us to look at? I have a vague recollection of inchies being pretty square like serendipity pieces, but not too sure.
We all make all the letters not one person makes C and another makes A? What do you make them on, chipboard, card that tim holtz grunge stuff? How thick are they supposed to be, is that enough questions?

Twinchies is a fabulous name.

Inchies should be 1 inch square, but these will be 2 inches square.
We make them onto card which is 2" by 2".
We all make a full set of CANNY CRAFTER and then you will get a
selection of other people's work back. I think the design is up to
us. The last lot of inchies I did was last Christmas and they were
Christmas ones so there was still plenty of scope.

i love the idea of serendipity ones.

Nope, none to look at.
Yes, all make the letters - all 12 of them.
Make them on any card you like so therefore as thick as the card.
I'll match them up as best I can.

Oh I like serendipity, I actually found some of the ones we did a long while back, just need to remember to use them now.

Lorraine, do you want us to put our names on the back when they are done.

Lorraine, can I ask if for example if 12 people signed up for this, would we all get 1 Twinch from everyone?

Still getting my head straight about it, so do we decorate c with somethimg related to C or just decoarate with say bullfrogs and a put a c on somewhere, I'm guessing the c needs to be prominent, think I'll google inchies.
I think I can remember the last lot being wonderful, but no idea what was on them, but I could be thinking dominoes.

Found some, do they have to be altered style as I'm not too hot on that? If not count me in, I found some gorgeous fabric ones on another site.

Your 'twinchy' will be a bit of card 2 inches square. You can decorate it any way you choose, it doesn't have to be altered. On this square, you place a letter so it's not the actual letter alone you're decorating. It's to be mounted to the square, but I would presume that you will paint or colour the letter somehow too.

Nona, in an ideal world you would each get one from everybody, but I'm going to try and match things up as best I can so you all end up with a nice piece of artwork. It really does depend on how many join and what styles/colours are used.

Karin, you can put your names on, hun but remember they will be stuck to something else and I will scan each lot as they come in anyway. However, if I get muddled a name on the back would be handy.

Another question, I see you've written canny crafter in caps, is that the best way, all caps?
I'm thinking the C's at least would be caps anyway, but not so sure about the rest, as other peoples will be different shapes and sizes anyway, so , can you tell I haven't got a clue what I've let you all in for here.

I plan to use one of my die alphabets and just cut the letters out. They are all the same font so no capitals or lower.

I background decorate each square first then add the letter to the top of it.
