It's so lovely to make - come on girls, join in ... it is really nice to fill the little pockets with bits and very easy once you get going.

I made a mistake on the first one I tried but realised where I had
gone wrong and made the second one without any problems.
The first one is still useable - just not as long as it should be.

I did a dry run first, and of course will now have to finish that one for myself on another day.

Started the main one with some gorgeous papers I found in my sorting of 12x12 to go in the new trays.

had a simple idea of a theme, which has now turned into something totally different and a lot more involved and no idea where to start !!!!! I'll get there though.

One thing I found was it's great to use a double sided 12x12.
That way you have a nice contrast on the mini book.

i have no double sided 12 x 12 in all of the stash i own. none, nada, zip. i've been looking for some but haven't found anything i like. i should say, i've been looking online, i want to see the sheets in person before spending money on them.

i figure i'd try to glue to sheets together. i figured i'd fold it in half and run both sides of one sheet through my xyron. hopefully i will be able to match them up.

otherwise i'll be using single sided only.

I have made two - practising lol. One with a double sided sheet of paper and another with a sheet of Bazzill which is of course a bit stronger. Not sure which I will use for the swap but if you use a plain piece of light card like Bazzill it works fine Jane.

Mine was plain white on the back, but I made sure it folded so that the main part of the white is what has been stuck at the back. then the little bit that folds up the front can be covered, decorated written on etc. Most of the pattern is still seen on the inside of the book.

Lorraine do we put our names on the books, maybe in small print on the back?

Mine's finished and will probably be posted at the end of the week.


If it not right for anyone else, it can always come home I'm really chuffed with the idea and theme I came up with.

I'm still wavering on this one; I can make a decorated book, but having contents as well requires a brain...

let me remind you tina, you have a cricut. you can make things. you also know someone close by that you can borrow carts from as well as go stash hunting.

Have decided to do a scaled down version with my workshop on friday at the school. Made a smaller one as a sample to show them, and quite chuffed with it. I like these. x

...having a cricut doesn't give me mojo for minibooks I'm afraid; doubt if I'd use it for something that small....I'm more likely to hand cut stuff and ink it all up!

i have made a good start on mine today and am real chuffed with it .I dont know where or how i came to the theme i have used but i like it .

Ive made my book, just working on the contents now.

If anyone uis stuck for contents, you could do tags with quotations, poems,
different colours, e.e.pink pocket, blue pocket,

Have just made my book and it was easier than I thought , I'm not very good at following written instructions but your tutorial was very clear and easyto follow Lou.
Now still thinking about a theme but had an idea so will get working on that now.
