Re: Aidan.
good news all round then lorraine ,i think its a fantastic idea for jonny to collect mia and then take her to the hospital to show here where they have all been . im sure it will help towards her understanding for the next time as well . maybe next time , she might benefit from having a nurses costume and playing hospitals with her dollies and she might cope with it better. has she got a teddy that you can do "operations" on its mouth .

Re: Aidan.
Finally able to pick up a message from T Mobile on the website.
Here he is after his surgery. You can see how swollen his little face is and his nose is a slightly different shape due to being pulled round.

Re: Aidan.
Oh bless his little cotton socks! He looks so much better even with all that swelling - and I just so hope he continues to sleep and feed well and gets back where he belongs a.s.a.p. Especially for Grandma's sake!!!xxx

Re: Aidan.
Gosh his face is swollen isn't it? I surprised at how the actual 'wound' is hardly swollen at all. You're right, it's very neat!

Re: Aidan.
Glad you have got this one of him Lorraine, very neat job, by the time you do see him the swelling will have started to go and so he will look different again. Still hoping that he gets home today, though they are asking alot if he hasn't been having much at a time in his tummy.

Re: Aidan.
They've done a great job. All those who knock the NHS see here. Makes you glad you live here not USA or war torn Africa. Well ,it does me anyway.
This time next month he'll be looking different again as it all heals up and his swelling goes down, still a proper little lad though.
That's good news for all, thanks Lorraine.

What a fantastic job they have done. Glad he's having all this
done now - hopefully it willbe sorted before he is too aware of what
is happening.

Re: Aidan.
I got this one too straight after his op. He does look miserable, bless him.
Shan't post any more till he's healed more now. Don't want to bore you.
I have to say though, that in that last photo when he's home, he looks like a different baby and it's really strange to see him. Still, I'm sure it won't take long to get used to it.

Re: Aidan.
After his 'dropping' that I mentioned in Incidental I'm back here.
Pilgrim Hospital at Boston didn't do anything, but that was because they couldn't. As it was maxillofacial and specialist nobody there is qualified. They didn't even clean him up to see if any damage had been done but to be quite honest, I think they were scared stiff.
Nic and Jonny brought him home and after I'd taken Mia back and got her settled in bed, cleaned Aidan up. I don't think there's too much damage, (but of course I'm no expert). It certainly doesn't look as if the lips are split but maybe a stitch or two has come out as Jonny says he thinks his nose is 'flattened'.
Nic was straight on the phone to QMC when they got home, and in Pilgrims favour, they had already phoned Queens to tell them what had happened. They told Nic they would phone her back when they found the registrar but as of now, no call back. I'm pretty damned peeved about that to be honest, as he may need a tad more surgery. However, I do understand that one more night won't make any difference and he's obviously not in pain as he's sleeping. We'll just have to wait now and see if they have to take him back to Nottingham, which I hope they have to, and get him checked over properly.
Nic is coping well, but Jonny...that's a different matter. He's punishing himself something awful and nothing we can say makes him feel any better at the moment. It's all bl**dy platitudes anyway...I mean, what can you say?
Mia, poor little mite again, can't fathom why Daddy is crying and what's happened to Aidan.
Anyway, as always, I'm on call if I'm needed.
(No worries, Maria. I know what you're like, hun.)

Re: Aidan.
omg thats awful news about him falling .....and ppor jonny he must feel awful about it ,he obviously does and will blame himself for ages to come ,jonny may be imagining his nose being flatter because he is looking for signs of damage . lets hope thats the case .
blood looks so bad even if there is a spoonful gone all over the place and when its come from your baby its even worse so lets hope thats not as bad as people think .
i wonder if the hospital are waiting to get in touch with the surgeon who did the op before they make contact with you ,the registrar who was on duty last night maybe would not dare touch it as its such a specialist field .cant blame him can you ?
i hope it all turns out ok for poor little aidan and then jonny will agaoin setle down but they ought to take agood look at that cot .

well that all sounds as though things arent as bad as first feared, at least he isnt in pain.
What a traumatic time you are all having. Try to get some rest yourself.
